Statement by Emma Porcupine, tattoo artist: The idea for this set of dolls came from flash I had seen by Charlie Cartwright in EYE TATTOOED AMERICA --- sweet & sour being images of a babies head; one - sweet & happy, the other - sour & crying. I thought it would be fun to transfer this sentiment onto a pair of identical "twin" dolls using certain types of tattoo imagery, such as sunshine and sour cherries, as a way of illustrating the dual nature of personality.
